Midea: Ride the Wave AR

Midea transformed their washing machine into a fully interactive WebAR experience visualizing the internal efficiency and fluid dynamics of Midea appliances.

UI/UX

We kept the user flow simple and formatted a seamless interactive UI that breaks down technical appliance specifications into bite-sized spatial overlays during the live product scan. The implementation required careful management of the specific technical constraints imposed by the native AR toolkits for iOS and Android.

Development

The water simulation required multiple iterations in order to meet the .gltf and .usdz file type requirements for augmented reality.

Animation & Fluid FX

I worked with a character animator for the Midea surfer and character interactions, while I animated the vortex 3D wave simulation, turning product specs into an engaging story.
