Ideal Industries: Virtual Electrician Training

A virtual reality training experience designed to teach electrical conduit bending through hands-on, immersive learning. The experience places users inside a branded VR environment where they can interact with tools, follow guided lessons, and practice real-world techniques in a safe, repeatable way.

Meta Quest Virtual Reality

I served as Creative Director, UI/UX Designer, Motion Designer, and CG Director, leading the creative vision, interface design, motion language, CG layout, and overall user experience. I worked closely with two senior developers and a junior designer to bring the VR training system to life.

UI/UX & Motion

I designed the spatial UI/UX framework for the VR training experience, developing an interactive in-world tablet interface to anchor the step-by-step exercises and knowledge-retention quizzes. This system mapped complex technical trade protocols into a highly visual, intuitive, and structured learning flow.

Make Technical Training Feel Approachable

My role focused on making a technical trade skill feel clear, approachable, and engaging inside VR. I designed the lesson flow with the client’s guidance, in-world UI, interaction prompts, visual system, and motion design, while also directing the CG layout, environment staging, tool placement, and collaborating with developers on key instructional moments.

A room set up for virtual electrical training, featuring a large sign with the text "VET2 Virtual Electrical Training Series II" and the "IDEAL" logo. The room has blue and white walls, a ladder, a toolbox, a tape measure, a pencil, and electrical equipment including circuit breakers and wiring. There's also a blue safety helmet and training props resembling electrical tools.

Outcome

The final experience transformed electrical training into an interactive VR learning tool that combined realistic tools, guided instruction, CG environments, and branded storytelling into a polished, modern training platform.
